The origins of the DIFF can be traced back to 2008 when it debuted as the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition, held in conjunction with the city's liberation celebrations. What began as a modest showcase of pyrotechnic prowess quickly evolved into an internationally renowned event, attracting top talent and thousands of spectators from far and wide.

Over the years, the festival has undergone significant growth and transformation, reflecting Da Nang's emergence as a cultural and tourism hub in Vietnam. In 2017, the event was rebranded as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF), signaling its evolution into a global phenomenon.

The much-anticipated DIFF 2024 is poised to showcase the talents of eight participating teams. Among them are stalwart contenders like France, Italy, and Finland, alongside newcomers from the United States, Germany, Poland, China, and of course, the host nation Vietnam. What's On at the Festival?

The opening night is planned for June the 8th, with fireworks shows then planned  for every Saturday evening across the following weeks (except for the week before the final night). The planned date for the DIFF 2024 final night is the 13th of July. From intricate choreography to stunning visual effects, the displays promise to be a feast for the senses.
