Q. Can anyone buy fireworks from you?
A. Yes anyone is welcome to purchase fireworks from us. All we ask is that you are over the age of 18.
Q. What are your opening hours?
A. We are open from 9am until 5pm seven days a week, all year round.
Q. Whereabouts are you based?
A. Our head office and collection centre is in Tankersley, which is near Sheffield, South Yorkshire. We have regional sales offices around the UK; however these do not store fireworks and are sales offices only.
Q. When can I use fireworks?
A. You can legally use fireworks any day of the year between 7am and 11pm. There are extensions to this; on Guy Fawkes Night you can use them until 12am and on New Years Eve, Christmas, Chinese New Year and Diwali until 1am.
Q. Safety: Do I need professional help to set off my fireworks?
A. No, you don’t. We supply fireworks for smaller public displays as well as to businesses, groups and individuals. All our stock carries the category F2 and F3 classification meaning they are designed for non-professional igniting, and have just one fuse each so are simple to light. We also supply comprehensive firing orders, and safety equipment to make them even easier to use and every pack comes with our full list of safety hints and tips. We are always happy to give advice on designing your display, just ask.
Q. How far back do I need to be from the fireworks?
A. Each firework carries a label stating clearly how far back you need to be. It will be 25 metres for the display fireworks (Cat F3), and 8 metres for the garden fireworks (Cat F2).
Q. Can I be sure all fireworks I buy from you are safe?
A. We only deal with manufacturers whose fireworks comply fully with all aspects of the current fireworks safety regulation.
Q. Do you do firework displays where you light the fireworks for me?
A. We do not light fireworks for our customers, the reason being, our fireworks are top quality and give the same performance regardless of who lights them. Therefore our customers get more for their money by lighting the fireworks themselves.
Q. What is your best firework?
A. Everyone has a different favourite firework, depending on what colours and effects they like. Our best sellers are Screaming Spiders and Thunderous Finale, and we think they are very impressive, but try them for yourself to see what you think.
Q. What do I do if a firework doesn’t go off properly?
A. It is very unusual for our fireworks to fail to go off, however it can happen. In these circumstances, do not approach the firework. It is best to leave the firework overnight then soak with water the following day, and contact your local fire service for further advice.
Q. How can you sell your fireworks so cheap?
A. Having been in the firework business for almost 20 years, and by buying our products directly from China as well as domestic sources, we have the buying power to obtain large quantities of fireworks and sell them at the lowest possible prices. Ensuring we always have the best deals for our customers.
Q. Do I get a discount if I come to collect my fireworks?
A. We do not give any further discounts on our fireworks (they are the best prices around already) but we do offer a big free gift when you collect a display pack from us. Another great advantage to collecting your fireworks is the benefit of speaking to our highly trained pyro-technicians who are always happy to talk pyro!
Q. What is your biggest and loudest firework?
A. This is a very common question, the answer is…. It depends. The biggest firework may not produce the biggest effect in the sky or the loudest noise. Check our videos to see what effect most impresses you and try our recommended favourites to see what we like the most. Do not presume the biggest is the best.
Q. How long have Epic Fireworks been in business?
A. Epic is the display division of Jimmy’s Wholesale fireworks and has almost twenty years experience in supplying fireworks. Our sales team have a combined experience of over 60 years and never stop looking at new ways to improve our services and products.
Q. Do your fireworks have a best before date?
A. There is no shelf life on fireworks, if they are kept in a cool dry place they will last for years.
Q. How long do your packs last for?
A. This is another very common question. The answer is… it’s up to you. A longer display can be obtained by lighting fireworks singly and having pauses between each firework, we usually suggest a shorter but much punchier show by lighting two or more fireworks together and having no pauses between them. Ask our trained sales staff about the length of specific displays.
If you have any questions at all about fireworks, please do not be afraid to ask, no matter how trivial it may seem. We are always happy to answer questions and we are always delighted to meet a new enthusiast.
