Youth Olympic Games opening fireworks

3 years after the idea was originally put forward and 2 years after the host nation was chosen Singapore finally sees the start of the Youth Olympic Games with a grand opening ceremony that included a spectacular fireworks display.

3,600 contestants aged between 14 and 18 will battle it out for gold in 26 different sports with representatives from 204 different countries. This is the Olympics after all.

Of course, just like the normal Olympics, the best part is the opening ceremony because there are fireworks!
