PLYMOUTH WELCOMES BACK ITS COMPLIMENTARY FIREWORK SPECTACLE

A once-beloved, cost-free fireworks extravaganza is set to make its grand return to Plymouth on Bonfire Night.

Scheduled for November 5th, this event, held at the iconic Hoe, stands as the flagship attraction of a city-wide initiative dedicated to affordable enjoyment, a vital component of Plymouth's cost of living action plan.

The revival of this event, which has historically drawn crowds of up to 30,000 attendees, is a collaborative effort between the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership and the city's dedicated events team.

Deputy leader of Plymouth City Council, Councillor Jemima Laing, underscored the significance of such festivities, stating, "We understand that in times of financial strain, fun-filled events are often the first to be sacrificed. These small, yet significant pleasures are what add value to our lives".

"For many families," she continued, "these joys have slowly eroded away, forcing difficult choices between basic necessities like heating and nourishment. That's precisely why we wanted to offer this cost-free enjoyment, so that families can partake in the festivities on the Hoe without fretting over expenses such as meals or school uniforms, just as they always have".

The epic celebration promises an array of enchanting attractions, including amusement park rides, a diverse selection of food stalls, and a grand bonfire spectacle. The festivities will reach their zenith with a splendid fireworks display, launched from the venerated walls of the Royal Citadel.
