Northampton’s FREE Annual Fireworks Spectacular Set to Go Off with a Historic Twist

If you’re looking to celebrate Bonfire Night with a bit of local history on the side, Northampton’s Annual Fireworks Spectacular is set to deliver both sparks and story this year!

Not only will the Racecourse come alive with all the usual festivities, but you'll also  be able to enjoy a special showing of A Northamptonshire Conspiracy, a locally produced film exploring Northamptonshire’s surprising links to the Gunpowder Plot.

Here’s what to expect:

Family Fun & Festivities from 4 pm

The event will kick off at 4 pm, with attractions to keep everyone entertained. The Funfair will be in full swing, and the Catering Village promises plenty of food and drink options to satisfy every craving. Local legend Bernie Keith from BBC Radio Northampton will be there to host, keeping things lively throughout the evening.

On the Agenda:

• 4:30 pm: Live music from local favourites WHITEROOM, covering classic tunes to get the crowd going.
• 5:40 pm: Fire and Pyro Show – bring on the heat before the main event!

History on the Big Screen: A Northamptonshire Conspiracy

For a unique twist on Bonfire Night, Northampton Town Council has commissioned A Northamptonshire Conspiracy, a short film bringing the county’s role in the Gunpowder Plot to light. The film dives into how key plotter Robert Catesby and his band of conspirators used locations like Delapre Abbey, Rushton Hall, and Ashby Manor House to hatch their scheme. This film will show twice, giving everyone a chance to catch it before the grand finale.

Screenings:

• 4:15 pm: First showing of A Northamptonshire Conspiracy
• 5:30 pm: Second showing, in case you missed the first!
  
  

The Fireworks Finale

The evening will be topped off with a huge fireworks display at 6pm with a pyro-musical show. It’s free, it’s family-friendly, and it’s sure to deliver the spark we all need this time of year!
