Bonfire Night is a big deal in the East Midlands, and 2024 is shaping up to be a spectacular year for fireworks displays and community bonfires. Wherever you are in the region, there’s plenty to choose from.

From traditional bonfires to modern fireworks shows set to music, we’ve rounded up the top Bonfire Night events in the East Midlands for you to enjoy this year.

1. Derbyshire County Cricket Club's Fireworks Display

When: Saturday, 2nd November 2024, Gates open at 4pm
Where: The County Ground, Nottingham Road, Derby, DE21 6DA
Tickets: Adults – £15, Juniors – £5

Join the excitement at Derby's Fireworks Night and Fun Fair, one of the city's most popular winter events! This year's spectacular fireworks display will be set to the hottest music tracks, lighting up the Derbyshire sky in style. 2. Corby's Bonfire & Fireworks Display

When: Tuesday, 5th November 2024
Where: Area around the Boating Lake, Cottingham Road, Corby, Northants, NN17 2UN
Tickets: Free entry, but donations for local charities are welcome.

This annual bonfire and fireworks event is set to light up the skies once again. The free event features a bonfire lit at 7 PM, followed by an impressive fireworks display at 7:30 PM. As a highlight, the popular torchlight procession will kick off from outside Corby International Pool at 6:30 PM.

3. Bourne's Fireworks Spectacular

When: Saturday, 2nd November 2024, Gates open at 3:30pm
Where: Wellhead Park, Bourne, PE10 9NF
Tickets: Adults – £10, Children – £5, Under 3's - Free

This year's event will feature live music, fairground rides, and a variety of food and drink stalls. Families can enjoy a special children's "low bang" fireworks display at 5:15 PM, followed by the main display at 6:30 PM. Enhancements include more fair rides, an earlier low bang display for younger kids, a dedicated event bar from the Round Table, a stage for musical acts between displays, and a longer main fireworks show, all choreographed to musical themes.

4. Rutland Lion's Fireworks Display

When: Friday, 1st November 2024, Gates open at 5:15pm
Where: The Rutland Showground, Burley Park Way, Oakham, Rutland LE15 7TW
Tickets: Entry - £5, Group and Family Tickets Available from £9

Get ready for a dazzling evening with two fabulous fireworks displays, hosted by the Rutland Lions. 5. Lincoln City's Fireworks Display

When: Sunday, 3rd November 2024, Gates open at 3pm
Where: LNER Stadium, Sincil Bank, Lincoln LN5 8LD
Tickets: Adults (18+) - £7, Children and Concessions - £5

Get ready for another spectacular evening of family fun as tickets for this year's fireworks display are flying off the shelves! After sold-out events over the past three years, the excitement returns to the stadium with live music, entertainment, and a breathtaking fireworks show. Gates open at 3 PM for the University of Lincoln Fan Village, where you can meet members of the City’s first team for photos and autographs, along with a variety of food and entertainment leading up to the main event!

6. Northampton's Free fireworks display

When: Saturday, 2nd November 2024, Gates open at 4pm
Where: The Racecourse, Kettering Rd, Northampton NN1 4LG
Tickets: Free entry, but donations for local charities are welcome.

Get ready for a night of fun and history at this year’s bonfire event! Local covers band Whiteroom will kick things off with singalong classics, followed by a dazzling fire and pyrotechnic show as you count down to the fireworks. To keep the educational vibes going, there’ll be screenings of the Northamptonshire Gunpowder Plot Story, showcasing the county's connection to the infamous Guy Fawkes Night. Plus, there’ll be funfair rides, face painting, and a mouth-watering selection of food and sweet treats. It’s going to be a blast!

7. Clay Cross Family Fun Day & Fireworks display

When: Sunday, 27th October 2024, Gates open at 2pm
Where: Clay Cross Town Football Club, Clay Cross, Chesterfield S45 9QJ
Tickets: Adults - £7.50, Children - £2.50

Get ready for a family fun day that’ll knock your socks off. There’s a kids’ football tournament with over a grand in prizes up for grabs, a penalty shootout (don’t worry, it’s not just for pros), and even a bouncy castle for the little ones to burn off some energy. Stick around for glitter tattoos, mermaid braids, and live tunes by Renayah, all leading up to a firework display 7.30pm. Sounds like a perfect excuse to leave the remote control behind for a change!

8. Ripley Midland Railway Adventure

When: 1st & 2nd November 2024
Where: Butterley Station, off, B6179, Ripley DE5 3QZ
Tickets: Adults - £12.95, Child (5-16) - £1, Under 5's - Free

All aboard for a great evening on the Midland Railway! You can hop on the train from Butterley station starting at 5pm to Swanwick Junction just for the fireworks. Not only will you enjoy the dazzling display set to music, but you can also check out some vintage railway goodies, visit the Railwayman’s Church, or take a hair-raising ride on the Narrow Gauge Train through the Spooky Park

9. Buxton Firework Spectacular

When: Sunday, 3rd November 2024, Gates open 4pm
Where: Buxton Cricket Club, Park Rd, Buxton SK17 6SN
Tickets: Adults - £8, Under 13s - £4, Family (2 adults & 2 children) - £20

There’s something for everyone, from fairground rides to clubbercise and zumba dance sessions (because who doesn’t want to sweat it out before the fireworks?). The kids will kick things off with a gentle firework display at 5.40pm, followed by an LED light show that’ll have you saying, “How did they do that?” before the main fireworks take off at 7.20pm.

10. Eyam Fireworks Night

When: Saturday, 9th November 2024, Gates open 4pm
Where: Hawkhill Rd, Eyam, Hope Valley S32 5AD
Tickets: Adults - £9, Child (2-15) - £4, Under 2s - Free

Get ready to join a torchlit procession that’ll make you feel like a character in a spooky film! At 6.15pm, the chanting crew will wend their way from the square to the playing field, where the willow rat is set for a ceremonial burning. After the dramatic bonfire, sit back and enjoy a spectacular fireworks display.
