London New Year’s Eve Fireworks 2026: Tickets, Viewing Areas & How to Plan Your Night

London New Year’s Eve Fireworks 2026: Tickets, Viewing Areas & How to Plan Your Night

London’s world-famous New Year’s Eve fireworks display is back for 2025 — and if you want to be part of it, now’s the time to get organised. Each year, thousands line the Thames to watch the sky light up at midnight, and tickets are always snapped up fast.

Whether you’re a regular NYE reveller or a first-timer looking to tick this off your bucket list, here’s everything you need to know — from ticket prices and where you’ll be standing, to travel, accessibility and a few smart planning tips.

How to Get London NYE 2026 Tickets

Tickets for the London New Year's Eve Fireworks go on sale at midday on Friday 17 October 2025. You can only buy them through the official seller, Ticketmaster — don’t be tempted by resellers, as only genuine tickets will be accepted on the night.

This year, tickets are split into Category A and Category B, and pricing depends on where you live:

Viewing Category Standard Price London Resident Price
Category A (Blue, Pink, White) £55 £35
Category B (Red, Green, Orange) £40 £20

All prices include VAT, and a small booking fee will be added at checkout. Londoners get a £20 discount per ticket, verified at the purchase stage via billing address, and may be asked to provide proof of address on the night.

Each buyer can book up to four tickets. For larger groups, another adult can book an additional four. Tickets are non-transferable, so make sure everyone in your group arrives together.

London NYE 2026 Viewing Areas: What You Need to Know

There are six ticketed viewing areas along the Thames, each offering a slightly different perspective on the fireworks. Once you’re in your area, you can’t move between them — so choose wisely. Gates open from 8:00pm to 10:30pm.

  • Blue Area – Victoria Embankment (Westminster Bridge to Golden Jubilee Footbridge). North side access via Victoria or Charing Cross stations. Direct, head-on view opposite the London Eye.

  • Red Area – Victoria Embankment (Golden Jubilee Footbridge to Temple Avenue). North side access via Holborn or Blackfriars. Side view, slightly further downriver.

  • Pink Area – Waterloo Bridge only. South side access via Southwark. Partial, side view. No crossing to other zones.

  • Green Area – Behind the London Eye. South side access via Waterloo. Up-close view of the action.

  • White Area – Westminster Bridge only. South side access via Waterloo. Partial side view close to the London Eye.

  • Orange Area – Albert Embankment (accessible viewing). South side access via Waterloo. Side view designed for those with access needs.

Pick your spot carefully. Blue and Green are the most in-demand, offering that classic head-on view of the fireworks with the London Eye centre stage.

Accessibility: The Orange Viewing Area

The Orange Area is designed specifically for guests with access needs or those looking for a less crowded space. It has a clear side view of the fireworks, and is close to vehicle drop-off (about 700m). Accessible toilets and a Mobiloo unit with a hoist and changing table will be available, and you’re welcome to bring a fold-up chair.

Getting To and From the Event

Central London will be extremely busy on New Year’s Eve. Bridges such as Westminster and Waterloo close before and after the event, so make sure you’re on the correct side of the river before 8pm.

Public transport is your best bet. The Transport for London network runs extended services on the night, but expect queues and delays after midnight. Build in plenty of extra time, wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared to walk a bit after the display ends.

Driving is not recommended — road closures across central London begin at 8pm and remain in place into the early hours.

Event Rules and Safety

This is a major public event, and security is tight. Bag checks will be in operation at all entrances, and only small bags are permitted. No alcohol, glass, fireworks, sparklers or drones are allowed inside the viewing areas.

The Mayor of London’s office works with partner agencies including Metropolitan Police Service, Transport for London, and local authorities to ensure a safe and well-managed night.

Supporting a Good Cause: TAP London

Once again, the event will support TAP London, a charity helping people experiencing homelessness. You can make a donation during ticket purchase or at the event. It’s a small gesture that can make a real difference during the winter months.

Missed Out on Tickets?

Tickets sell out every year, but you can still enjoy the fireworks without being in the ticketed areas. There are several free vantage points across the city, though they tend to get very busy, and you won’t be as close to the action.
