India Wins Blackpool World Fireworks Championship 2025
Blackpool’s night skies belong to a new champion. Amir Morani Fireworks, representing India, have officially taken the 2025 World Fireworks Championship Blackpool title — and they did it in style.
Their opening performance set a standard the rest of the competition couldn’t quite catch. Judges called it “one of the best we’ve judged,” and with thousands of spectators lined up along the promenade between Central Pier and North Pier, it was clear they weren’t the only ones impressed. Precise timing, clever musical cues and a real sense of drama made it a proper showstopper.
India Light Up The Seafront
The winning display came on 26th September, after a brief reschedule earlier in the month due to a lightning storm. And it delivered.
India’s team described their choreography as “varied and diverse”, which turned out to be a bit of an understatement. The show mixed dynamic sequences with smart use of colour and tempo, gradually building into a full-on seafront spectacle.
Judges scored them ahead of the other two competitors, Dance of Fire (Ukraine) and Orion (Canada), giving them a clean win.
Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council and one of the judges, said:
“Team India’s creativity and technical brilliance truly lit up the Blackpool sky. We are delighted to confirm that they will return in 2028 to compete in the Champion of Champions event.”
The Road To Champion Of Champions
This year’s competition isn’t just about bragging rights. It’s the start of a four-year build-up to a special Champion of Champions showdown in 2028.
Each year, past winners return to compete for a single qualifying spot in that grand finale. With their 2025 win, Amir Morani Fireworks are the first team to secure their place.
This year’s line-up featured:
-
26th September: Amir Morani Fireworks (India, 2023 winner)
-
27th September: Dance of Fire (Ukraine, 2019 winner)
-
11th October: Orion (Canada, 2015 winner)
All three shows were free to attend, drawing huge crowds to the Tower Festival Headland for three nights of classic autumn seaside fun.
A Team With Serious Firework Pedigree
Amir Morani Fireworks aren’t newcomers. Based in Mumbai, they’ve spent more than 80 years creating some of the biggest fireworks shows in India and beyond. They’re known for their technical precision, knack for musicality, and ability to turn a big empty sky into something genuinely memorable.
Blackpool was no different. Their pacing was spot-on, the colours were rich, and the timing against the music was razor-sharp. It wasn’t just loud bangs and bright flashes — it was crafted.
Part Of A Packed Autumn Season
The World Fireworks Championship is one of the main draws in Blackpool’s busy autumn and winter programme, sitting alongside the Lightpool Festival (15th October–1st November), Christmas By The Sea (21st November–4th January) and the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations (running nightly until 4th January).
As Cllr Lynn Williams put it, the double-header weekend was “the perfect excuse to make a weekend of it in Blackpool.” Judging by the turnout, plenty of people took that advice.
