WHY: INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF PYROTECHNIC ART
WHEN: 13TH FEBRUARY 2020 – 5TH MARCH 2020
WHERE: COURCHEVEL SKI RESORT, FRENCH ALPS
COST: FREE TO ALL STAYING AT THE RESORT

One of the highlights of the Ski Season in Courchevel is the spectacular firework competition. Held over the stunning snow-capped French Alps, it is truly a sight to see.

This competition is one of the first in the display calendar taking place only days before the opening event of the PIPC (Philippine International Firework Competition). Last year, the winners of this huge event were the fantastic representatives from the UK; Pyrotex Fireworx who lifted the trophy after a great display.  They were precise, with some incredible colour combinations, which has frankly become the norm for this team. They were very narrowly beaten into second place at the Danang International Firework Competition in 2019.  Their finale filled the snow-filled sky with incredible brocades and dragon eggs. They took on the best of the rest of the World with representatives from France, Italy, Brazil, and the Philippines.

Courchevel Fireworks Festival

This year, the festival theme is going to be ‘Winter is Coming’ in a nod to one of THE most popular television series in the last 10 years.

The event also includes a beautiful torchlit descent by the instructors and teaching staff at Courchevel, where the only sound is the ski’s passing over the crisp snow, and the crackling of flames.

The French Alps are renowned for being VERY expensive and are full of socialites from across Europe and beyond. However, there are cheap eats to be had from Snowfood La Pizza Gourmande where traditional stonebaked pizza is a specialty to the more expensive fine dining of Bistro Le C which offers a competitively priced menu where you can expect to pay around €80 per head including wine (mid-price range).
