Roman Candles

Roman candle - Often called just 'candles'; a roman candle is a tube, usually cardboard, which periodically shoots out stars, comets, or other effects. Candles vary in size; generally, a larger candle will produce a larger effect.

Perhaps one of the oldest styles of fireworks and a firm family favourite, the Roman candle dates back to early China and comes in many forms. Generally, a roman candle will shoot coloured stars into the sky and these often finish bursting into different effects, often spinners and coloured peonies. These are more often used for smaller garden displays but can be used in greater numbers and fanned out for use in professional shows.
