If you are looking for something to do with the kids this summer holiday’s then why not give Weymouth a try? They have an action-packed family fun programme and to end the evening with a bang, a fabulous firework display on specified evenings through July and August.

Join in the 10,000’s that descend onto the area and join in the party atmosphere with entertainment on the seafront, activities and be in with a chance of winning one of the many competitions on offer throughout all the evenings.

Spend the day by the sea and enjoy all the sights, sounds and sunshine (fingers crossed) or if the beach is not for you take a stroll around the historical attractions and nature reserves in the area. For the shopaholics, you can wander the streets and see some not only the national stores but also the independent stores selling unique and quirky gifts. Stroll along the Georgian promenade and the 17th-century harbour or visit Nothe gardens and fort and take in some of the spectacular views of Portland and the sailing waters.

This year the summer fireworks are special to the town as except for November the 5^th the previous council dropped them due to budget cuts. Now, the new authority has stepped in and granted the funding for the summer displays.

Enter on the fireworks evenings from 7pm and 9pm at Alexandra gardens pleasure grounds and the skies above will be full of light, colour, and sound as the fireworks begin at 9:30pm. Don’t worry that you may not be able to get a spot as you will have access to a perfect view all along the seafront. For the keen photographers amongst you, make sure you head up to the Nothe Fort a little earlier for some fantastic and unique shots.

Not only is Weymouth located in the heart of the Jurassic Coast’s World Heritage Site, but is also a great all-year-round destination and is buzzing with different events and activities book your place now to the seaside resort and join in the summer fun.
