Truro New Year’s Eve Fireworks 2025/26: Lemon Quay Double Display & Epic Home Shows

Truro New Year’s Eve Fireworks 2025/26: Lemon Quay Double Display & Epic Home Shows

Anyone searching for “Truro New Year’s Eve fireworks 2025”, “what time are the Truro NYE fireworks?” or “is there a family display in Truro this year?” will be pleased to know, you're in the right place.

The answer is a solid yes – Truro is absolutely doing New Year’s Eve properly this year.

On Wednesday 31st December 2025, Truro City Council is putting on two free fireworks displays, both best watched from Lemon Quay.

Both shows are free to attend, fired from the grounds of Truro School, and designed so the whole city can see in the New Year together.

And for anyone who’d rather skip the crowds (or lives nowhere near Cornwall), the same “two-display” idea can be recreated at home using Epic Fireworks for a Truro-style New Year’s Eve on the doorstep.

What’s Happening in Truro on New Year’s Eve 2025/26?

Truro City Council has confirmed that the annual New Year’s Eve celebrations are back, lighting up the skies with two spectacular fireworks displays and inviting people to gather on Lemon Quay.

The timetable is simple:

  • 7:30pm – Family Fireworks Display
Ideal for families with younger children, anyone working early the next day, or those who like to be home and cosy before midnight.

  • Midnight – New Year’s Display
The full traditional countdown, firing as the clock hits twelve to welcome in 2026.

Both displays:

  • Are free to attend

  • Are best viewed from Lemon Quay in the city centre

  • Are fired from the hillside grounds of Truro School, giving a high launch point so the fireworks sit above the skyline

There’s no guesswork about where to go or whether anything is happening – the times, location and format are all in place well ahead of New Year’s Eve.

The £3 Children’s Voucher Scheme

One of the most popular features of Truro’s celebrations is the £3 voucher scheme linked to the early display.

For the 7:30pm Family Fireworks Display:

  • Children under 16 can claim a £3 voucher

  • The voucher can be spent on food, drink, sweets or a ride on the carousel at Raymond’s stall on Lemon Quay

  • Vouchers are handed out from 6:30pm on New Year’s Eve

  • Collection point is at the Lemon Street end of Lemon Quay, opposite the Hall for Cornwall

  • They’re issued on a first-come, first-served basis and are only valid during the family event

Previous years have seen hundreds of these vouchers used on hot snacks, treats and rides before the 7:30pm display, turning the early show into a proper evening out for children rather than just “standing around waiting for bangs”.

It’s a simple idea, but it makes a big difference to the experience for families.

Who’s Behind the Fireworks?

The displays themselves are in experienced hands.

For New Year’s Eve 2025, Truro has booked Celebration Pyrotechnics to design and fire both shows. They’re a well-known Cornish fireworks company with an impressive list of big events under their belt, including:

  • Displays over St Michael’s Mount for the St Aubyn Estate and National Trust

  • Large drive-in shows at the Royal Cornwall Showground

  • Major events at venues like Westpoint Arena and Cheltenham Racecourse

  • Fireworks for Falmouth Week 2025

The company is run by Tom Bricknell, himself a former Truro School pupil – a neat full-circle detail, given the fireworks will be launched from his old school’s grounds for the whole city to enjoy.

Bringing a Truro-Style New Year Home

Not everyone can make it to Truro for New Year’s Eve, and even for those nearby, there’s plenty of appeal in staying home – neighbours, friends and family gathered in a garden or shared space, with a display that runs on a schedule that suits everyone.

The structure Truro uses – earlier family display plus midnight show – actually works brilliantly at home:

  • An early slot for children and anyone who prefers not to be outside at midnight

  • A later, more intense show timed with the countdown for those who do

With the right fireworks, the same feel can be recreated almost anywhere.

Epic Fireworks: Turning “Two-Show Truro” into a Home Display

For anyone planning to mark New Year’s Eve with fireworks at home, Epic Fireworks makes life significantly easier. We're:

Our range is built so that someone planning a small garden show and someone planning a full-scale street event can both find what they need.

Building a 7:30pm “Family Display”

A home version of the Truro-style early display might include:

Epic’s DIY display packs are built with this in mind – curated mixes that come with a suggested firing order, so there’s no need to puzzle it out under a head torch.

Building a Midnight Show

For midnight, the focus shifts to fireworks that feel like a centrepiece:

  • Large compound cakes that effectively string multiple barrages together into one extended show

  • Big 1.3G rockets for those classic high, wide bursts

  • A simple sequence: a warm-up cake just before midnight, followed by a main event barrage or compound at the stroke of twelve

Epic’s New Year’s Eve packs lean heavily on these kinds of single-ignition barrages and compounds, designed to give a “mini professional” look with minimal fuss.

Truro, or Home – The Main Thing Is Not Leaving It to Chance

Truro offers two free displays to enjoy, which are a great way to see in 2026 with the whole city.

For everyone else – or anyone who prefers a celebration closer to home – the same “two-display” format works beautifully in a garden or on a shared street. With the help of Epic Fireworks and its huge range of barrages, compounds, rockets and display packs, it’s possible to create a Truro-level New Year’s Eve show without leaving the driveway.

Whether the countdown happens on Lemon Quay or outside the back door, one thing doesn’t change:

If New Year’s Eve 2025–26 is going to go off with a bang, someone has to light the fuse.

Epic Fireworks is ready with the boom.
