The World Fireworks Championship Returns to Blackpool in 2025

If you love fireworks (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?), mark your calendar because the World Fireworks Championship are back in Blackpool for another year of explosive entertainment.

With three spectacular shows taking place over September and October, this annual event brings the world’s top pyrotechnic teams together to battle it out over the iconic Tower Festival Headland. Expect jaw-dropping displays, perfectly choreographed pyromusicals, and enough colour and noise to make even Blackpool’s famous Illuminations jealous.

When Are the 2025 World Fireworks Championship?

This year’s competition will take place on:

Each event attracts over 50,000 spectators, so if you’re planning on coming down, get there early, grab a good spot, and settle in for an unforgettable night.

Who’s Competing in 2025?

The line-up of competing countries is still under wraps, but if past years are anything to go by, expect some of the world’s best firework designers to bring their A-game.

Last year, Poland took the crown after a stunning performance by Nakaja Art. Their precision, musicality, and use of their national colours won over the judges, beating tough competition from the USA and Finland.

The 2025 competitors will be announced soon – so watch this space!

Where to Watch the Fireworks in Blackpool

The displays are launched from the beach, right in front of Blackpool Tower.

The best viewing spots? Anywhere along the Promenade, from Central Pier to North Pier.

Pre-show entertainment starts at 7:30 pm, with the fireworks launching at around 8:30 pm.

Parking can get busy, so consider using the tramway or public transport to get to the Tower Festival Headland without the stress of traffic.

🏆 2024 – Poland’s Nakaja Art Steals the Show

The Polish team wowed the crowd with a stunning, synchronised display that used their national colours to dramatic effect. Their “pyromusical” performance was hailed as “fabulous” by the judges and set the bar high for future competitors.

🏆 2023 – India’s Big Debut

India’s Amir Morani Fireworks (AMFW) made history as the first Indian team to compete in the UK, delivering a breathtaking blend of traditional Indian themes and cutting-edge pyrotechnic effects.

🏆 2022 – Wales Takes the Crown

Wales won over the judges with a joyful, music-driven display, kicking off their show with a Tom Jones classic before diving into a mix of pop anthems and spectacular firework effects.
