The Madeira International Fireworks Contest At The Atlantic Festival 2011

Atlantic Festival 2011 Poster

The summer officially starts in Madeira on the 4th June 2011 with a month-long celebration known as the Atlantic Festival.

The festival also comprises the International Fireworks Competition. Every Saturday night in June, expect to be entertained and awed. The highlight of the night centres around the 20-minute fireworks display in the harbour. This isn’t just any fireworks display - this is actually the Madeira International fireworks competition where contestants from different countries organise magnificent firework displays in harmony with accompanying the music. Four pyrotechnics companies each put on an awesome show over four nights in the month. So, it’s fair to say the shows are spectacular.
