Stanford Hall Firework Champions 2015

WHAT: Firework Champions 2015 – Stanford Hall
WHERE: Stanford Hall, Lutterworth, Leicestershire
WHEN: Saturday 1st August 2015
WHY: Professional Firework Competition
COST: £17.00 per adult online – GATE PRICES ARE HIGHER

This is the 11th year of this staggering competition in the grounds of the absolutely stunning 17th century Stanford Hall which has been home to the Cave family and their ancestors on the site where the old Manor House was replaced by Stanford Hall since 1430.

The event is one of five being held around the Midlands and North of England during the summer and offers the opportunity to see some of the UK’s pro firework firing teams at work in a competition format. MLE have given the spectators the opportunity to select their favourites and vote via SMS.

The teams are as follows:

BLITZ FIREWORKS - CREWE - 9.30pm

Blitz Fireworks’ professional firing team were formed in 2007 and the team has around 15 years pyrotechnic experience between them.

The team is current holders of the British Firework Championships, held in Plymouth in 2014, and they won at another of this event’s venues in 2011 at Eastnor Castle they are back to showcase another example of truly breathtaking pyrotechnics.

Expect sweeping fans and huge shell bursts as they appear to be the standard armoury alongside some novelty stuff like their space ships in the winning display in Plymouth.

PHENOMENAL FIREWORKS LTD - STANDISH - 9.45pm

Established 2005 the company was built up of their collective passion for fireworks.

They carry out approximately 150 displays annually for clients in film, television and advertising.

This is the 3rd year running that the team from Phenomenal has taken part in one of the Firework Champion events so you can be assured of some absolutely beautiful effects. When they fired at last year’s MLE event at Broughton Hall (not on this year’s agenda) they were absolutely amazing with standout sections for me being the start to Bang Bang which was incredibly slow but the reports were perfectly timed and then, secondly, their section to ‘Happy’ by Pharrel Williams with the huge smiley faces was awesome.

SPITFIRE PYROTECHNICS - COVENTRY - 10.00pm

The company was established in 1988 and are known leaders in the field of pyro-musical choreography and the team has a huge number of wins under their belts. They were worthy winners of the British Musical Firework Championships (Southport) in 2002 and 2003 and have won previous Firework Champions Events at Stanford Hall in 2004, 2005, 2010 and 2012.

Their pyro choreography to Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol was absolutely breathtaking despite the poor weather conditions.

Once all the teams have shown their wares so to speak, at 10:15 the spectators have the opportunity to vote via SMS for their favourites. On site, their roving reporter and commentator will give a real-time update over the PA system of the voting as it comes in.

Finally, the team from organisers MLE will be showing their pyro prowess during the closing display show. MLE have won or taken a place at both of the major UK awards including Southport and Plymouth for the British Musical Fireworks and British Firework Championships and also represented the UK in Macau for the International Firework Championships in 2005.

Visitors to the event are able to take along picnic furniture, blankets etc to sit on but under NO circumstances are BBQ’s allowed, whether you are camping on the field adjacent to the firing site or not.
