Each year, the stunning City of Prague in the Czech Republic hosts a HUGE Festival of Light event which can be enjoyed by both visitors and locals alike.

This year’s theme is REVOLUTION as it marks the 30^th anniversary of the Czech’s Velvet Revolution which brought about the end of the single-party communist rule in the Country. It brought about massive changes including the removal of the barbed wire separating the Czech Republic from East Germany. This event coincided with the fall of the Berlin Wall and numerous other events, also bringing the end to Soviet rule across Eastern Europe and Russia.

The Festival of Light event was created by a group of representatives from the fields of Arts and Culture and it has become the most highly respected digital art and technology events in Europe today,

The event also features fireworks and a plethora of colourful art installations across the City’s many districts. The opening ceremony takes place at Karlinski Namesti and brings in thousands of visitors to this magical audio-visual spectacle. It is also great for children too with some specifically ‘child friendly’ exhibitions.

We recently saw the new movie – Spider-Man - Far From Home, where Peter Parker (AKA Spiderman) goes to a number of European cities with his school, one of which is Prague and his classmates all want to attend the Festival of Light.
