SEAFRONT FIREWORKS

SEAFRONT FIREWORKS

WHAT: SEAFRONT FIREWORKS
WHY: WEEKLY FIREWORK EVENT
WHERE: SOUTHEND PIER
WHEN: 6TH OCTOBER – 17TH NOVEMBER 2018
COST: FREE

I absolutely love going to the seaside off season – it always lends a sense of peace but this time of year, if you are positively yearning for the familiar thud and crackle of fireworks then get yourself along to Southend Pier for your much-needed pyro fix.

You can spend the day there with lots to see and do including the Sealife Adventure, seafront amusements, Adventureland and much more. Stroll along the longest pier in the WORLD at 1.34 miles, it extends out into the Thames Estuary. Originally built in 1829 in wood, over the years, the sheer visitor numbers had impacted on the wooden pier so it was replaced with an iron one in 1887.

The fireworks are part of the ‘Southend Bid’ for 2018. Every penny raised as a result of this initiative goes to creating a strong and safe environment for visitors and locals alike helping to stress the importance of recycling, keeping the Town clean and improving on the overall shopping experience for locals and visitors alike.

Go along, show your support and fill yourselves up on delicious fish and chips and lots and lots of donuts!
