PORTSMOUTH NAVAL BASE FIREWORKS

PORTSMOUTH NAVAL BASE FIREWORKS

Portsmouth tonight will be dishing out an early pyro fix for visitors and locals as it celebrates the 60th anniversary of the White Ensign Association.

Founded in 1958 by the Royal Navy and the city of London, the association was set up as an advice service for the workforce of Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Queen Alexandra’s Naval Nursing Service, Former Women’s Royal Naval Service, their respective reserves and families.

Over the years it has developed and expanded and today offers one to one guidance for all Royal Navy personnel past and present along with the reserves and their families in all manner of issues. If they cannot help themselves directly then they point people in the right direction to organisations that can.

The base will not be open to the public, but the lighting of the skies will be visible for all to see across Portsmouth. The lighting will be on Wednesday 20th March 2019 at 19:40pm and the show will last roughly around 10 minutes.
