Poole Quay Summer Fireworks 2025: Free Family Fun Every Thursday Night

Evenings on the south coast are about to get a serious upgrade. The Poole Quay Summer Fireworks are back for 2025, lighting up Thursday nights with free entertainment, music and a cracking fireworks finale — all with a sea breeze and harbourside views thrown in for good measure.

Running from Thursday 7th August to Thursday 29th August 2025, this is the kind of family-friendly night out that doesn’t rinse your wallet. Whether you’re local or just passing through, it’s well worth heading down to The Quay for the atmosphere alone.

What’s On and When

Things kick off from 7pm every Thursday, with live music, street performers and entertainment that’s bang on for kids and grown-ups alike. There are rides and games to keep everyone busy, and as the evening rolls on, it all builds up to the main event — a firework display over the water that never fails to impress.

The fireworks light up the sky at 10pm — so keep your eyes peeled and your camera ready. If you’ve never watched pyrotechnics reflected in the sea, you're in for a treat. There’s just something about the combination of boats bobbing, seagulls gawping and fireworks booming that makes it feel pretty special.

Want the Best Seat in the House?

Now, if you fancy making your night even more memorable, hop aboard the Diverse Abilities Fireworks Cruise. Setting off from Poole Quay at 7.30pm, this floating fireworks night gives you front-row views of the display — no elbows required.

  • You’ll need to be there for 7pm sharp to board.

  • You’ll be greeted with a glass of prosecco (don’t mind if we do).

  • There’s a licensed bar onboard too, so you can sip and sail in style.

Tickets are £25 per adult and £15 per child, and all proceeds go to Diverse Abilities — a brilliant local charity. Think of it as feel-good fireworks, with fizz and a sea breeze.

How to Get There

Poole Quay is right in the thick of it and easy to get to, whether you're on two legs, four wheels or public transport. Here’s a quick run-through of your options:

By car: Follow signs for Poole Town Centre then Poole Quay. There’s plenty of parking nearby, including multi-storeys and surface car parks close to the action.

By train or bus: Poole Railway Station is about a 10-minute walk from The Quay. Local buses run regularly too — ideal if you’re coming in from surrounding areas.

By foot or bike: If you’re staying nearby, it’s a lovely stroll or cycle down to the harbour. There are bike racks on the Quay, so you won’t have to juggle fireworks and handlebars.

Whichever way you’re getting there, arrive early. It’s a popular event, and a prime viewing spot goes quickly — especially if you’re after space to spread out the picnic blanket or set up a chair.

One Last Thing…

The fireworks are, of course, weather dependent. While we all hope for perfect blue skies and warm evenings, we’re still in Britain — so keep an eye on the forecast.

Whether you’re going for the music, the cruise, or just to watch some serious fireworks over a beautiful bit of coastline, the Poole Quay Summer Fireworks 2025 are a must-do this August. Free fun, a buzzing atmosphere, and a fantastic display to cap it all off. What more could you ask for on a Thursday night?
