Pattaya International Firework Festival 2014

The Pattaya International Firework Festival started in 2007 and continues to runs from strength to strength bringing a much-needed boost to the local economy. This is the 8th annual event which brings together the best of the best from around the world to entertain and delight the gathered thousands.

The competition takes part in two sections and the first on the Friday gives the display specialists a 10 minute window in which to wow the crowds which they do on an individual basis before the event on Saturday where the teams will all pull together to put on a 45 minute spectacular.

As one of the biggest events in Pattaya, there is plenty to do with parades, live music, concerts and traditional and contemporary dance with lots of stalls around selling locally made handicrafts and the shops will stay open until late evening.

The reason for the event is to celebrate the anniversary and birthday of the King of Thailand, Bhumibil Adulyadej who has been on the throne for an impressive 64 years. His continued poor health is of course cause for concern amongst his very loyal subjects but at 86 years of age, it is not unsurprising.

Representing the UK is the team from Pyro 2000, the display specialists from Standard Black Cat of Huddersfield who have shown their prowess in this field and continue to go from strength to strength. They have an impressive client list and very recently were lucky to be awarded runners-up in the Seoul International Fireworks Festival.

Of course, along with the rest of the UK, we will be rooting for Pyro 2000 but they are up against some tough competition from Spain Italy and Germany.

We will update you as soon as further information becomes available.
