Ozzfest 2008

Way back in 1996 the first “Ozzfest” took place in the U.S.A and is now an annual event featuring, of course, the legend that is Ozzy Osbourne and his band Black Sabbath.

This all came about when Sharon (Ozzy’s manager) and son Jack approached the organisers of the Lollapalooza festival, advising Ozzy and the band was happy to appear for a small fee, this was declined. So in true “Mrs. O” style, she formed her own tour which kicked off in Phoenix, Arizona between the 25th and 26th of October 1996.

The tour was so well received by the metal-hungry crowds it had to become an annual event.

Over the years rock gods such as Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Pantera, Linkin Park, and Goth favourites Incubus have all appeared.
