Osbourne Proms 2025: Classical Tunes, Fireworks, and a Royal Backdrop

If you're after a summer evening that ticks all the boxes – music, history, fireworks, and a good cause – then clear your diary for Saturday 26th July. The Osborne Proms are back for 2025, and they’re shaping up to be a real showstopper.

Set in the picture-perfect grounds of Osborne House, this open-air concert pairs world-class music with stunning views across the Isle of Wight – and rounds the evening off with a firework finale that’s every bit as grand as the setting.

Osborne House isn’t just a pretty face – it was built as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s seaside retreat, and it’s about as grand as you’d expect from a monarch with nine kids and a thing for Italianate architecture. These days, it’s run by English Heritage and open to the public – well worth a wander if you’ve not visited before.

An Orchestra with Pedigree

The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will be taking centre stage, bringing with them a programme full of Proms favourites and classical showpieces. Expect Elgar, Tchaikovsky, Vaughan Williams and other big hitters – the kind of soaring, soul-stirring music that feels right at home in a place with a royal pedigree.

It’s the sort of evening where you can kick off your shoes, sip something cold, and feel just a little bit smug about your excellent life choices.

Bring a Picnic or Let Someone Else Do the Hard Work

There’s something wonderfully civilised about sitting on a picnic blanket, glass in hand, while a full orchestra belts out the 1812 Overture in front of a stately home. Guests are welcome to pack their own picnic, but if you'd rather let someone else do the graft, there’ll be local artisan food and drink stalls on site – or you can pre-order a hamper and collect it when you arrive. Very Downton, minus the drama.

Fireworks to Finish, Naturally

As if a concert in Queen Victoria’s back garden wasn’t enough, the night ends with a firework display guaranteed to deliver a few gasps. Set to music and launched against the backdrop of the English Channel and the silhouette of Osborne House, it’s got all the crackle, boom, and sparkle you'd expect from an event like this – the kind of finale that makes you pause, take a breath, and think, “Yep, this is what summer’s all about.”

Supporting a Good Cause

It’s not just about the spectacle either. This year’s event is in aid of Mountbatten Isle of Wight – a local hospice charity offering essential end-of-life care and support for patients and their families. So, while you’re enjoying your evening, you’ll also be helping fund vital services for the local community. Win-win.

Tickets and Essentials

Early bird tickets are now on sale, so if you’re keen to go, don’t hang about. Prices will increase closer to the event.

  • General Admission: £25.00 + booking fees

  • Lawn Tickets: £30 each

  • VIP options also available

  • Gates open from 5pm, concert runs until 10:30pm

  • Free parking available on site

If you’re coming from the mainland, ferries run regularly from Southampton, Portsmouth and Lymington – and with the free parking at the venue, it’s a stress-free hop over for an evening of music and fireworks. Just don’t leave booking your ferry too late if you’re planning to bring the car over – this one’s popular.

Once you've booked your ticket and planned your journey all that will be left is to pack your picnic basket, dig out your camp chairs, and prepare for a night of top-tier music, glorious scenery and a fantastic firework finish.

Osborne Proms always draws a crowd – and with early bird tickets already shifting, it’s worth snapping yours up before they’re gone. Just don’t forget the blanket, the bottle opener, and your best singalong voice.
