Monaco Art en Ciel is a biennial fireworks competition that takes place in the Principality of Monaco. The competition has been held every two years since 1966 and is organized by the Mairie de Monaco (Monaco Town Hall) in collaboration with the Pyrotechnic Company of Monaco.

The event brings together some of the best pyrotechnic companies from around the world to compete against each other. Each company has a designated night during the competition where they have to create a unique and impressive fireworks display that lasts between 20 and 30 minutes. The shows are usually accompanied by music, adding an extra dimension to the display.

The competition is held over several evenings and is a popular event in Monaco's cultural calendar, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world. The displays are usually held in the Port Hercule area of Monaco, and visitors can enjoy the show from various vantage points, including the Quai Albert Ier, the terrace of the Monaco Yacht Club, or from boats in the harbor.

Judging the competition is a panel of experts from the pyrotechnic industry and the arts. The judges evaluate each display based on several criteria, including the quality of the fireworks, synchronization with the music, creativity, and originality. The winner of the competition is awarded the "Vestale d'Argent," a prestigious prize that recognizes their skills and expertise in the pyrotechnic industry.

Apart from being a competition, Monaco Art en Ciel is also an opportunity for companies to showcase their latest pyrotechnic technology and to experiment with new designs and techniques. As a result, visitors can expect to see some truly stunning displays, with each company pushing the boundaries of what is possible with fireworks.

In addition to the main competition, Monaco Art en Ciel also includes a range of other events, such as concerts, exhibitions, and other cultural activities. These events are designed to celebrate the art of pyrotechnics and to bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds.
