Malta Fireworks Contest - Winners Announced

The Malta Tourism Authority has announced the winners of the various categories of the Malta Fireworks Festival, held over the last weekend.

The international pyro-musical competition was won by Proformance Pyrotechnics (Australia) followed by Nakaja Art (Poland) and Vaccalluzzo Zio Piro (Italy)

The following were the winners of the traditional Maltese firework shells competitions:

A) Murtaletti (Cracker cylindrical shells)

1. Santa Marija Fireworks Factory (Għaxaq)

2. San Mikiel Fireworks Factory (Lija)

B) Murtaletti tal-Beraq (Coloured Cracker cylindrical shells)

1. Taċ-Ċintura Fireworks Factory (Gudja)

2. Mount Carmel Fireworks Factory (Żurrieq)

C) Forom u Disinji (Design / shape shells)

1. Santa Marija Fireworks Factory (Għaxaq)

2. San Mikiel Fireworks Factory (Lija)

D) Murtali tal-Kulur (Colour cylindrical shells)

1. San Nikola Fireworks Factory (Siġġiewi)

2. San Mikiel Fireworks Factory (Lija)

E) Blalen (Spherical shells)

1. San Sebastjan Fireworks Factory (Qormi)

2. Mount Carmel Fireworks Factory (Żurrieq)
