Every 4th July Macy’s in New York has one of the most amazing fireworks display on the planet.

The 2013 show will take place over the Hudson River and will be used to celebrate the anniversary of the USA’s independence.

The firework show will be the 37th annual show, will last about 25 minutes and approximately 40,000 aerial shells will be launched from barges anchored in the Hudson River.

Every year the show has a theme. The theme for 2012 was ‘Ignite the night’. The theme for 2013 has been revealed and it's called 'It begins with a spark'.

Every year the show features the ‘Golden Mile’, which is a fireworks effect stretching over one mile across the Hudson River.

The show is a star-studded event with the 2013 show rumoured to have Mariah Carey performing and Usher is also going to be arranging the music that the fireworks will be played to.
