Sometimes known as ‘’The Pearl of Dorset,’’ Lyme Regis is situated on the Jurassic Coast, and is a wonderful destination for a family or couples’ holiday.

With a stunning backdrop of the West Dorset Cliffs, quaint architecture, and beautiful beaches, it is certainly a lovely destination. Throughout the beginning of August, Lyme Regis will be hosting its carnival, with a huge selection of activities to take part in, over a 9-day stretch.

However! The event we are obviously the most excited about, is the huge fireworks display being put on!

The fireworks are to be launched from close to Lyme Regis’ famous pier, The Cobb.

The town has a history of putting on some immense displays for spectators, and usually does one display each summer, and one display around bonfire night.

Below is a fantastic example of one of their Bonfire Night displays from last year.

The proceeds collected during Lyme Regis Carnival week go back into the local community, with donations awarded to local charities and good causes, since 2004, they have raised a total of £187,000 for local causes.
