This fabulous competition has been bringing together some of the finest exponents of pyrotechnic used in the World for approaching 30 years and the interest sees no sign of waning.

There is a huge programme of entertainment including music and art performances along with circus skills and all manner of street art. Each of the days which have firework events taking place will have an accompanying support programme of entertainment is created with the competing country in mind.

Each team is tasked with creating a display perfectly choreographed to match the music lasting 25-minutes before what is expected to be in the region of 55,000 visitors annually. This competition is in every sense a ‘high light’ in its very truest form as the teams fill the night sky with stunning effects and music in this enchanting event.

This year, there are teams competing from around the world in this 29th edition of the Herrenhausen International Firework Competition:

• CZECH REPUBLIC – TEAM MAKALU FIREWORKS – 7TH SEPTEMBER 2019
• JAPAN – TEAM MARUTAMAYA CO – 21ST SEPTEMBER 2019

The winners of the event last year was the team representing Norway – North Star Fireworks. Their winning display showed a high level of synchronicity and a fantastic mixture of colour and effects and the opening sequence was quiet and serene timed to the split second.
