The game launched on the 20^th of December 2011 with development costs of around $200 million, an ambitious project which has paid off.

In the first 3 days of availability over one million users signed up and paid to play the game online, now almost a year later a free play version is available, allowing users to play up to level 20 before needing to pay in advance.

The game itself takes place time-wise 300 years after the Knights of the old republic and 3500 years before the Star Wars Films took place.

Players join the game as members of either the Sith Empire or the Galactic Republic with their very own spaceship and a choice of species but can quickly progress to better ships, weapons, as they earn experience points.

The game is huge with hundreds of worlds to discover, light sabres, pistols etc. thousands of characters to interact with and feels as though you are actually in a film with highly cinematic environments and real feel physics as you fly your spacecraft across the galaxy in search of adventure, fame and fortune.

Also further to the offer Bioware are asking users to screen capture their adventures, the best two shots will have pride of place on their Facebook page and Website.
