FIREWORKS TO REPLACE DRONES IN CITY OF LIGHT SHOW

Basil Zempilas, the Lord Mayor of the City of Perth, has announced that the decision to replace drones with fireworks for the finale of the City of Light series was made after drone operators confirmed that flying drones would not be feasible due to current conditions. Zempilas emphasized that it was important to conclude the event on a high note and provide the best experience for viewers. In addition to the fireworks, there will be water flyboard demonstrations at the Elizabeth Quay water inlet.

The fireworks display will take place at Elizabeth Quay on Saturday and Sunday evenings at 8pm. Families are encouraged to come down to Elizabeth Quay from 5pm to enjoy food trucks, roving entertainment, and other activities. The children can participate in a silent disco, try out hula-hoop workshops, and cool off in the waterpark. People can also purchase a ticket and try their luck at sideshow alley.

Zempilas expressed pride in the busy summer event calendar that has lit up the City of Perth and mentioned that the event season is still in full swing. The City of Light Show series is presented by Hancock Prospecting, Roy Hill, and Atlas Iron, and has received support from major partners such as Lotterywest, Mix94.5, and Seven West.

The event schedule for this Saturday and Sunday includes a wide range of activities such as the Bell Tower Ringers, Mix94.5 Road Runners, on-water flyboard shows, and more. The firework display is scheduled for 8pm both evenings.
