When and Where to See Fireworks in Great Yarmouth and Hemsby in 2025
Nothing says summer on the Norfolk coast quite like the crackle of fireworks over the beach – and if you're heading to Great Yarmouth or Hemsby this July and August, you're in for a treat. The 2025 firework calendar has landed, and it’s shaping up to be a great one.
Visit Great Yarmouth has confirmed that both towns will be lighting up the skies weekly through the school holidays, offering the perfect excuse to grab a bag of chips, pick your spot on the sand, and settle in for an evening of family fun.
Big Tuesday Fireworks in Hemsby
Every Tuesday evening from 22nd July to 26th August, Hemsby Beach will host its Big Tuesday Fireworks event. The festivities kick off in the early evening with street performers, live entertainment and family-friendly fun to get everyone in the mood.
Then at 10pm sharp, all eyes will turn skyward as the night is brought to a close with a firework display over the beach. It’s a proper crowd-pleaser, and the perfect way to round off a day by the sea.
Big Wednesday Fireworks in Great Yarmouth
Just down the coast, Great Yarmouth’s Big Wednesday Fireworks will run every week from 23rd July to 27th August. These displays take place at Yarmouth Pier, with pre-show entertainment starting from 6pm.
Expect a lively mix of music, street theatre and seaside revelry before the 10pm firework finale lighting up the historic seafront.
One Last Bang: October’s Big Wednesday Firework Finale
If summer passes you by or you just fancy squeezing one more show into your firework diary, don’t miss the Big Wednesday October Fireworks on the 29th October. It’s a chance to see the season off with a bang – and with Halloween just around the corner, there’s every chance the show will have a spooky twist.
Plan Ahead and Arrive Early
These events are free and open to all, which means they’re popular – and rightly so. If you’re hoping to grab a good spot (or a seat for your fish and chips), it pays to get there early and soak up the atmosphere. The coast knows how to throw a party, especially when fireworks are involved.
