Firework Champions 2025: Belvoir Castle – Epic Fireworks in Rutland
If you’re a fan of fireworks done properly, then Belvoir Castle on Saturday 16th August 2025 is where you need to be. This isn’t a five-minute show with a few rockets and a Catherine wheel clinging on for dear life—this is a full-scale firework competition, where three top-tier pyrotechnic teams battle it out to impress the crowd and take home the Firework Champions title.
Set in the grounds of one of the most impressive stately homes in the country, this event is about big displays, bigger competition, and a great night out. If you’re after an evening that involves food, drinks, and some of the best fireworks in the UK, this is it.
How It Works – Fireworks, but Make It a Contest
Firework Champions at Belvoir Castle is one of the longest-running events in the series, and for good reason. Three teams go head-to-head, each delivering a 10-minute display perfectly choreographed to music, using professional-grade fireworks that you won’t see at your neighbour’s Bonfire Night party.
After all three teams have put on their shows, it’s over to the audience. You’ll get to vote for the winner via text, deciding which team deserves the crown. Then, to top things off, there’s a huge closing display from AJ Pyrotechnics, just in case the competition didn’t already blow you away.
The 2025 Competitors – Who’s Bringing the Fireworks?
Team One: First up is Distant Thunder, a team that doesn’t do subtle. Expect bold colours, powerful sequences, and a few surprises along the way.
Team Two: Next in the ring is Pyrotex Fireworks, a team with a reputation for precise timing, dramatic build-ups, and a serious eye for detail.
Team Three: Rounding out the competition is Gala Fireworks, who never shy away from big, high-impact displays that leave a lasting impression.
Once the competitors have done their thing, AJ Pyrotechnics will take over for the finale, delivering one last massive display to end the night on a high.
Event Timings – What’s Happening and When?
For those making a full weekend of it, camping gates open at 1pm on Friday and again at 1pm on Saturday. If you’re just coming for the evening, event gates open at 4pm, giving you time to find a spot, grab some food, and get settled.
The entertainment starts at 8:45pm with a drone show, setting the scene before the main event at 9:00pm, where the three teams go head-to-head. Once all three displays have finished, it’s time to vote for the winner at 10:00pm.
At 10:10pm, AJ Pyrotechnics will take over with the grand finale, before the winner is announced at 10:25pm. By 10:30pm, it’s time to head home, having just watched some of the best fireworks you’ll see all year.
