Festival And Fireworks Scheduled In Senoia
Senoia is gearing up for its fifth annual Memorial Day festival and big fireworks display.
The annual Memorial Day Celebration and Festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 31 in historic downtown Senoia and includes a 2 p.m. patriotic parade. The day’s events will be followed by the evening fireworks show at dusk at the ballfields on Howard Road.
Make plans to bring the family for a fun day of patriotic celebration, invite representatives of sponsor Senoia Downtown Development Authority.
The keynote speaker for this year’s festival and a parade participant is Tommy Clack, captain, U.S. Army, retired. He is a Vietnam veteran and a triple amputee who has travelled extensively in all 50 states and many foreign countries speaking about his life experiences.
The 116th Army Band, Civil and Revolutionary War Re-enactors, Veterans, Civic Groups, Businesses, Scouts, and Shriners are some of the other parade participants. World War II veterans are the collective grand marshals. A pre- and post-parade show will be emceed by Charlie Filkins and Scott Sargeant, The Car Guys. entertainment, a food court, children’s activities and vendors will be available throughout the day.
Space is available for antique, handmade arts and crafts vendors (no resale items, please) as well as parade participants.
As families gather for the fireworks display at dark at the ball fields located on Howard Road there will be hot dogs, ice cream, Hawaiian shaved ice and other treats available. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a beautiful fireworks display, invites the DDA.
