Celebrating its 25th year, this is the biggest firework festival in the UK and promises an unforgettable evening for all ages.

Over the past 25 years, the Festival of Fireworks has delivered countless memorable moments. It’s a celebration that continues to grow and evolve, drawing larger crowds each year. This year’s festival is set to deliver another great night of fireworks.

Here’s your guide to making the most of this fantastic event.

When & Where

Mark your calendars for Saturday, 7th September, as Catton Hall in Walton-on-Trent, DE12 8LN, transforms into a mecca for firework enthusiasts from around the country.

Gates will open at 2pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy all the pre-show activities and delicious food before the fireworks displays kick off at around 8:30pm.

What Makes the Festival of Fireworks Unique?

The Festival of Fireworks isn't your typical firework event.

Since its inception in 1999 at Shugborough Hall, and its subsequent move to Catton Hall in 2008, the festival has allowed invited display companies to showcase their creative talents without the pressure of it being competition. Meaning they're not limited by competition rules or regulations and can put on a show that displays their own unique creativity and approach to firework displays.

This year, the event will feature four incredible teams: Fuse Fireworks from Nottingham, Galaxy Fireworks from the Isle of Man, Rainbow Fireworks from North Lincolnshire, and Jubilee Fireworks from the West Midlands.

Firework Display Timings

Whilst there's lots to enjoy during the day, the highlight of the festival will be the awesome firework displays from these top-notch teams. The schedule for the night is planned to be:

  • 8:30pm: Fuse Fireworks
  • 9:00pm: Galaxy Fireworks
  • 9:30pm: Rainbow Fireworks
  • 10:00pm: Jubilee Fireworks

Each team will bring its own unique style and creativity, ensuring a night full of breathtaking moments.

Fun for All Ages

While the fireworks are the main attraction, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained throughout the day.

From 2pm, you can enjoy a variety of food and drink options, including hog roast, wood-fired pizzas, burgers, churros, hot and cold drinks, a licensed bar, bratwurst, fish and chips, ice cream, and more. Plus the festival will also have fairground rides and stalls, providing fun activities for all ages.
