Everything You Need to Know About the 2025 Lichfield Proms

Lichfield Proms in Beacon Park returns for 2025, promising another unforgettable evening of music, picnicking, and an epic fireworks finale — all set in the beautiful, historic surroundings of Beacon Park.

Now firmly established as one of the highlights of the Midlands' cultural calendar, this free-to-attend open-air concert draws up to 10,000 visitors from across the region every year. Since the first concert back in 1998, Lichfield Proms has gone from strength to strength — and the 2025 edition is shaping up to be another showstopper.

Whether you’re a Proms regular or planning your first visit, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this brilliant event.

When and Where

This year’s Lichfield Proms takes place on Saturday 6th September 2025, in the scenic heart of Beacon Park, Lichfield (WS13 6RA).

The event is free to attend, with paid seating options available if you want to enjoy the show from a prime location.

What’s On at the Proms

A Packed Evening of Live Music

The night begins at 6pm with the City of Lichfield Concert Band, a 45-piece community wind band showcasing a vibrant programme of classical favourites, medleys, jazz, film scores, and pop hits. It’s the perfect warm-up to get the crowd into the festival spirit.

At 7.30pm, the main event begins. The British Police Symphony Orchestra takes to the stage with a specially arranged selection of music that spans stirring orchestral pieces and much-loved Proms classics. Expect rousing renditions of Elgar’s Pomp & Circumstance, Rule Britannia, and Jerusalem, all performed with precision and passion by this exceptional orchestra and its classically trained vocalists.

Family Fun and Festival Vibes

Lichfield Proms isn’t just about the music. The park transforms into a family-friendly festival space with a fun zone packed with children’s rides, food stalls, and bars to keep everyone refreshed. Whether you want to dance, relax with a drink, or enjoy a picnic with friends and family, there’s something here for all ages to enjoy.

The Fireworks Finale

As the final notes of the Proms anthems fade, the night sky comes alive with a dazzling fireworks display that brings the event to a breathtaking close. Delivered with all the colour, sound, and spectacle you’d expect from a top-class show, it’s the perfect finale to an evening of music, community, and celebration.
