Returning on the 1st of September, 2024 and set against the beautiful backdrop of Darley Park in Derby, this event promises an evening filled with captivating classical music and a dazzling fireworks display.
Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this magical night.
When & Where
The concert and display will be held at Darley Park, Darley Abbey, Derby, DE22 1EN, gates will open at 3pm and the full event schedule is:
- 3pm: Gates open
- 6pm: Concert starts
- 7pm: Sinfonia Viva Act One
- 8:30pm: Sinfonia Viva Act Two (fireworks starting around 9.15pm)
- 9:30pm: Concert ends
What to Expect
Music from the Movies: This year’s concert theme is “Music from the Movies,” featuring iconic film scores that will transport you to the heart of Hollywood. The Sinfonia Viva orchestra, joined by the talented Scottish tenor Nicky Spence, will deliver a performance that’s sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
Fireworks Finale: The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display starting at around 9.15pm. The display will be accompanied by the orchestra performing the final songs from their performance.
Food and Drink
A variety of food and drink vendors will be available on-site. Whether you prefer to bring your own picnic or sample the delicious options from the vendors, there’ll be something for everyone.
Getting Tickets
To enjoy this great evening of music and fireworks, it’s best to get your tickets in advance to guarantee you'll be able to go along, plus it will save you money against the on-the-day ticket prices:
- Advance Tickets: From £5 for adults and from £2 for children aged 1-15.
- On-the-Day Tickets: £9 for adults and £4 for under-16s.
Early bird prices are available until 31st July, with tickets at £4.50 for adults and £1.50 for under 16s. From 1st August to 29th August, prices increase to £6.50 for adults and £4 for under 16s. All events will be British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted.

- Arrive Early: Gates open at 3pm, so arriving early will give you plenty of time to find a good spot and enjoy the pre-concert atmosphere.
