Everything You Need to Know About Ardingly Summerfest - The Big Family Day Out

Ardingly Summerfest, also known as The Big Family Day Out, is set to be an unforgettable event packed with fun, entertainment, and excitement for all ages.

Scheduled for the 10th of August 2024 at the South of England Showground, this festival offers a variety of attractions, performances, and activities. From thrilling arena displays to a spectacular fireworks finale, there's something for everyone.

What's On at Ardingly Summerfest 2024

Arena Demonstrations and Displays

Prepare to be amazed by the dynamic performances scheduled throughout the day. The Slingshot Monster Truck will showcase powerful stunts, while the Stannage International Stunt Team and Paul Hannam Stunt Rider will deliver jaw-dropping feats. For those who enjoy aerial displays, the Jump Dogs Skydiving Team and Hot Air Balloon Displays will offer breathtaking views and thrills.

Music and Entertainment

Music lovers are in for a treat with a fantastic lineup of acts.

The Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra, will headline the event with orchestral dance anthems from Ibiza. Fans of Ed Sheeran will enjoy the Ed Sheeran Experience, a tribute capturing the essence of the singer-songwriter’s performances. Plus, ABBA Magic will bring the timeless hits of ABBA to life, Noasis will deliver the sounds of Oasis, and The Burning Aces will add their unique flair with the event hosted by the talented Hannah Jackson.

Activities and Fun for All Ages

Ardingly Summerfest is designed to be a fun-filled day for the whole family. Included in the cost of your ticket are a wide range of activities such as a Falconry Display, where you can see magnificent birds of prey up close.

Kids and adults alike will enjoy rides on Lennie the Land Train, the magical performances by Van Buren Magic, and learning new skills at the Circus Workshop.

The event also features Parkour Action and a Trampoline Show if you're looking to get active while you enjoy Summerfest.

There will be stilt walkers, bubble performers, and poi ribbon dancers adding to the festive atmosphere throughout the event.

An Epic Fireworks Finale

As the sun sets, prepare for a spectacular fireworks finale jam-packed with a huge range of firework effects and colours, all creating the perfect end to an amazing day.

Well, if you're looking to add even more excitement to your day, several attractions are available at an extra cost on top of your ticket.

You can Experience the thrill of Monster Truck Rides or take to the skies with Helicopter and Hot Air Balloon Rides. Plus, the Time 2 Bounce Inflatable Park, a variety of fairground rides, side stalls, games, craft stalls, face painting, and glitter tattoos means there’s no shortage of things for you to enjoy.

Food and Drink

You are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy at the event, or you can explore the huge variety of food and drink options that will be available on-site.

The new Artisan Food Village & Picnic Area will offer a range of gourmet food and drinks. Plus fairground food kiosks, ice cream vans, and a selection of bars will provide give you plenty of choices to keep everyone's bellies full and thirst quenched.

Getting Tickets to Ardingly Summerfest 2024

Advance tickets are available at a discounted rate: £14 for children (ages 3-15), £28 for adults (16+), and £75 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children). These prices are valid until the 25th of July.

On-the-day tickets are slightly higher, priced at £16 for children, £32 for adults, and £85 for a family ticket. Infants (0-2 years) can enter for free.

All tickets are subject to a booking fee and can be purchased at Eventbrite.

  • Car Park Opens: 11:30am
  • Gates Open: 12:00pm
  • Event Finishes: 10:00pm

Arriving early is recommended to make the most of the day and secure a good spot for the evening’s entertainment.

How to Get There

Ardingly Summerfest will be held at the South of England Showground, Selsfield Road, Haywards Heath, RH17 6TH

Getting There By Car:

Ardingly Showground is easily accessible by car, with free on-site parking available for all visitors. If you require accessible parking, there are designated spaces for blue badge holders.

  • From the M23: Take exit 10 onto the A264 towards East Grinstead. Follow the signs for Ardingly Showground.
  • From the A23: Exit onto the B2115 towards Cuckfield. Follow the signs for Ardingly Showground.

Getting There By Train:

The nearest train station is Haywards Heath, which is well-connected with frequent services from London and surrounding areas. From the station, the showground is a short taxi ride away.

Getting There By Bus:

Local bus services run from Haywards Heath and other nearby towns to locations close to the showground. Check the latest schedules and routes on the local transport website or contact the local bus service provider for the most up-to-date information.

Getting There By Bicycle:

For those preferring an eco-friendly option, cycling to the showground is a great choice. Bike racks will be available for securely parking your bicycle.

Travel Tips:

  • Plan Ahead: Given the popularity of Ardingly Summerfest, traffic near the showground can be busy, especially close to event start times. Plan to arrive early to avoid the traffic and secure a good parking spot.
  • Check Public Transport Timetables: Make sure you check the latest schedules for trains and buses to plan your journey in advance.
  • Carpool: If you’re driving, consider carpooling with friends or family to reduce the number of vehicles trying to get in and out of the event.

What Can I Bring With Me?

The organisers encourage you to bring picnic blankets or chairs to stay comfortable. You can also bring a small beach tent for shade. With the unreliable British weather it's wise to dress in layers and bring a waterproof jacket to be prepared for any changes in the weather.

Dogs are also welcome at Summerfest but must be well-behaved, kept on a lead, and cleaned up after. Given the fact that there will be firework displays, loud music and crowds do think carefully about whether you want to bring your four-legged family members to Ardingly Summerfest.
