Everything you need to know about Alexandra Palace's 2024 Fireworks Festival

If you’re thinking about where to spend Bonfire Night in 2024, look no further than the Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival. It’s got everything you could want for a great night out: fireworks, street food, ice skating, live music, a German bier festival, and even a massive bonfire. Whether you’re with the family or grabbing some mates for a night out, Alexandra Palace is the place to be this November 1st and 2nd.

What’s On at the 2024  Fireworks Festival?

has been at the heart of London’s fireworks displays since the Victorian era. They’ve been doing this for over 150 years, and it shows. Known as the ‘Glastonbury of Fireworks’, Alexandra Palace isn’t just any old venue — it’s got the history, the views, and the reputation for pulling off one of the best fireworks displays in the country. So, when we say they know how to put on a show, we mean it and they’re not messing about this time either.

They’re bringing you one of the biggest and best firework displays in London, along with a brand-new drone show. So not only will you get the usual fireworks extravaganza, but you’ll also see the capital's skyline illuminated by a stunning drone display.

On top of that, you’ve got a bit of everything to keep you entertained before and after the big show. Fancy a singalong? Head to the Cafe De Pally, where live music and a brass band will keep the tunes going. Or, if you prefer a pint and a bratwurst, the German Bier Festival in the Great Hall is back, complete with Oompah bands, live music, and even an Oasis and Abba tribute (because who doesn’t love a bit of "Wonderwall" or "Dancing Queen" after a few steins?).

For the foodies, the StrEATlife Village is dishing out some of London’s best street food, cocktails, and craft beers. Plus, you’ve got the funfair, ice skating (with a disco twist), and of course, the huge bonfire to kick things off in true Guy Fawkes style.

The Fireworks Schedule

The fireworks are the highlight of the festival, and they’ll be lighting up the sky at 9pm on Friday (1 Nov) and 8pm on Saturday (2 Nov). But with so much going on, we’d recommend getting there early to claim a prime viewing spot – the gates open at 6pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday, giving you plenty of time to settle in and enjoy the build-up. Plus, who wouldn’t want to dive into the delicious street food, grab a pint, or check out the live entertainment beforehand?

If you’re looking to avoid the post-fireworks rush, hang around after the display – the gates don’t close until 10.30pm both nights. So you’ve got ample time to enjoy a few more rides, soak up the festival atmosphere, and make the most of everything has to offer before calling it a night.

Fun for the Family

Bringing the kids? There’s loads to keep them entertained. The funfair will be back with all the classics – think Dodgems, Waltzers, and Teacups for the little ones. And, of course, the huge bonfire is always a big hit with families. There’s even a family-friendly ice-skating session (no wild disco beats, just good old-fashioned skating fun) if you want to give the kids a spin around the rink before the fireworks start.

Getting There

Now, let’s talk about getting to It’s on a hill, it’s huge, and it can get pretty busy, so plan ahead. Here are your options:

By Tube: The nearest tube stations are Wood Green and Finsbury Park (both on the Piccadilly Line), and from there, it’s a short bus ride or a bit of a walk. But hey, it’s all part of the experience, right?

By Train: Alexandra Palace Station is your best bet if you’re coming by train. It’s only about a 10-minute stroll up the hill to the venue. If you don’t fancy that, there are buses running from the station to itself.

By Bus: The W3 bus is a solid option, running from Wood Green and Finsbury Park straight to Alexandra Palace. It drops you off pretty close to all the action, so you don’t have to hike up that hill too much.

By Car: If you’re driving, fair play, but be warned – car parks at fill up fast. You can try your luck, but honestly, public transport’s probably the better shout. For blue badge holders, there are limited spaces available, but you’ll need to book ahead.

Accessibility at the Festival

The Ally Pally Fireworks Festival is committed to making sure everyone can enjoy the night, but bear in mind that the park is full of hills and some uneven ground, especially if it’s a bit wet. There’s an accessible viewing area with a fantastic vantage point, but it’s worth noting that this is limited to early bird accessible tickets. There’s also blue badge parking available, but make sure you book in advance, as spaces are limited. If you need help or have any specific requirements, the Visitor Services Team is always on hand to assist.

Getting Tickets

We recommend getting your tickets in advance as this is a hugely popular event. Plus the Bier Festival and Ice Skating are also ticketed so you'll want to secure yours early so you don't miss out on the fun!

  • Adult Entry: £17.50
  • Child Entry (0-10yrs): £5.50
  • Child Entry (11-15yrs): £12
  • German Bier Festival Add-on (18+): £18
  • Ice Skating Add-on (All Ages): £13

A Few Final Tips

  • Child tickets are available, but remember, kids under 16 need to be with an adult over 21, so don’t try sending them off on their own.
  • Don’t forget your ice skating tickets if you fancy a whirl on the rink – book early because they’ll go quick.
  • Wear sensible shoes! The park’s got hills and if the weather’s a bit British, it could get muddy and slippery.
  • Arrive early, grab some street food, and enjoy the funfair or a pint at the German Bier Festival. There’s plenty to keep you busy before the fireworks.
