Who says fireworks are just for the winter? The city of Chicago definitely doesn't!

This summer, as the sun sets over the majestic Lake Michigan, Navy Pier will come alive once again with the electrifying energy of the Navy Pier Fireworks 2024 event.

From Memorial Day weekend through to Labor Day weekend, Navy Pier lights up the Chicago sky with dazzling displays every Wednesday at 9 p.m. and Saturday at 10 p.m. Don't miss a single fireworks show with our detailed schedule breakdown:

Saturdays at 10pm:

  • May 25th,
  • June 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th
  • July 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th
  • August 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st

Wednesdays at 9pm:

  • May 29th
  • June 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th
  • July 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st
  • August 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.

With so many displays held over the summer, there's plenty of opportunities to experience the magic of the Navy Pier Fireworks.

What To Expect & Where To Watch The Displays

Accompanied by a mix of dramatic and popular music, from soaring melodies to heart-pounding beats, each soundtrack is carefully curated to enhance the fireworks display.

Each display is free to enjoy and will run for 10-15 minutes.

Navy Pier is the prime viewing spot, but they can also be enjoyed viewed from miles away including:

  • Montrose Beach and Harbor: Head north to Montrose Beach and Harbor for a relaxed beachfront setting with unobstructed views of the fireworks over Lake Michigan.
  • Ohio Street Beach: Located downtown near Navy Pier, Ohio Street Beach offers a convenient viewing location with stunning views of the Chicago skyline as a backdrop.
  • DuSable Harbor: Positioned along the Chicago River, DuSable Harbor provides a unique perspective of the fireworks show against the backdrop of downtown Chicago.
  • Adler Planetarium and Northerly Island: Visit the Adler Planetarium or Northerly Island for panoramic views of the fireworks display set against the majestic backdrop of the city and lakefront.
  • Oak Street Beach: Situated in the heart of downtown Chicago, Oak Street Beach offers a lively atmosphere and breathtaking views of the fireworks lighting up the night sky.
