Clacton Pier's 2024 Fireworks Programme: Everything You Need To Know

Clacton Pier has just announced its schedule of fireworks displays for 2024, offering an impressive lineup of ten free shows from March through November. The displays will light up the skies in celebration of various occasions and are to thank loyal patrons for their ongoing support.

Planning on going along to see one or even all of them?

Here's everything you need to know about Clacton Pier's 2024 fireworks programme.

The first fireworks extravaganza kicks off on March 31st, Easter Sunday, followed by displays on May 5th (May Day) and May 26th (Spring Bank Holiday).

During the summer, there will be Saturday shows on July 27th, August 3rd, 10th, and 17th.

The pier will also participate in the Clacton Air Show on August 22nd, presenting a display after the night flights, and another on August 25th for the Bank Holiday weekend.

The programme wraps up with two performances on November 5th to commemorate Guy Fawkes Night.

Exact timings for each display haven't been released yet, but as soon as we have them we'll update you on our blog.

As for getting to the events, you can easily get to the pier by car or train.

If you're coming by car and using your Sat Nav, just enter the address: 1 North Sea, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 1QX. The Pier's close to several car parks which allows easy access for visitors, and you can find parking details here.

Travelling by train?

The nearest railway station is Clacton-on-Sea. With direct rail links from London Liverpool Street, the jounery takes around 1hour and 30minutes from London. It's then a 10 minute walk from Clacton-on-Sea station to the Pier.

Alongside the fireworks, visitors can enjoy various food and drink options on-site, ranging from quick bites to family meals.

The pier's history dates back to 1871 when it began as a landing platform for goods and passengers. Over time, it transformed into a popular tourist destination, offering entertainment for Victorian holidaymakers and evolving into a modern-day attraction.

As you'd expect, the pier has seen significant improvements over the years. The Cockney Pride pub has been renovated into the Boardwalk Bar & Grill, while the Casino Royal amusement hall received a complete upgrade. Additional features like adventure golf and the Lanes 10 Pin Bowling Lounge and Bar have enhanced the pier's offerings, creating enjoyable experiences for locals and visitors alike.

Clacton Pier's fireworks displays promise another year of exciting events, providing an entertaining and vibrant experience for everyone to enjoy.
