Cholmondeley Fireworks Concert 2014

Cholmondeley Fireworks Concert 2014

This year’s Cholmondeley Fireworks Concert event, to be held on Saturday 14th June 2014 will be hosted by the inimitable Aled Jones.

The proud Welshman and one of the UK’s best known Baritone’s was a child star who has continued to work in TV and music as a presenter especially relating largely to a religious/inspirational repertoire.

He will be joined by the beautiful and talented mezzo-soprano Lauran Wright who has worked with the likes of top class tenors Alfie Boe, Russell Watson and Andrea Bocelli. Rather strangely for someone so beautiful and feminine, she is also a rugby player!

There will also be performances from the fabulous ‘Only Men Aloud’, a male voice choir with a huge collection of songs and hymns to their name from every genre covering musicals, opera, barbershop, swing and popular music and new group Celeste. This all women group are former cathedral choristers with a difference – they not only sing the usual plethora of religious anthems but a huge range of jazz/pop to excite the crowds.

All singers will be accompanied by the simply spectacular National Symphony Orchestra which of course needs no introduction as one of the UK’s finest, having being established in the 1940’s and played alongside some of the finest musical talent in Britain.

This year’s event will have an Italian/British theme combining the best of both to great effect and will be very similar in styling to the Proms concerts which everyone loves. The castle grounds are absolutely beautiful and the perfect setting for a brilliant evening of music under the stars. The concert starts at 6:30pm on Saturday 14th June 2014 and concludes with a fabulous fireworks display.
