Cheshire Autumn Lights 2025: Everything You Need To Know

Cheshire Autumn Lights 2025: Everything You Need To Know

Cheshire’s getting its first ever Autumn Lights and it’s not arriving quietly. On Saturday 25th October 2025, the Cheshire County Showground (WA16 0JJ) hosts a full-blown evening of live entertainment, street food, funfair rides and two choreographed pyromusical firework displays.

Gates open from 3:00pm, the atmosphere builds through the afternoon, and the sky gets its big moment at 7:40pm and again at 9:15pm. If you’ve been waiting for a proper, professional, family-friendly fireworks night in the county, this is it.

Why This One’s Worth Your Saturday

It’s the first time Autumn Lights has come to Cheshire, so the organisers are making a statement. You’re not just getting a display slapped on the end of a field; you’re getting a curated show day with a running order, roaming performers, and a finale designed to send everyone home grinning. There’s free on-site parking, the displays are visible right across the venue (including hardstanding areas), and the schedule leans into families without watering down the fireworks.

The Running Order

The site opens at 3:00pm with the funfair, bars and street food already in full swing. From 4:00pm, award-winning compere Ryan Swain keeps the main arena moving while children’s characters work the funfair from 4:15pm. As dusk edges in, La Flamo throws sparks across a tight ten-minute fire show (5:40pm), then Spark! Drummers take over (6:00pm–6:40pm) with illuminated percussion that looks brilliant in the blue hour.

Next up is the Young Elton tribute (6:40pm–7:40pm)—all the big singalong choruses you forgot you knew—before a short reset for the early fireworks. At about 7:40pm, the children’s pyromusical and SFX show lifts off: a shorter, earlier display that still gives you the choreography and colour without keeping little ones up past their limits. Another hit of La Flamo at 7:50pm, then the main stage hands over to Dick & Dom (8:00pm–9:00pm) for an hour of chaotic brilliance. At 9:15pm (give or take a couple of minutes—pyro waits for no one), the Grand Finale firework and SFX show wraps the night.

Roaming glow performers appear throughout, so even the gaps between acts feel alive.

Tickets & Entry

Online prices are £14.99 for adults and £7.99 for ages 4–16 (plus booking fees). On the gate—if there’s any left—it’s £20 adults and £10 children. Under-3s go free. The gates close to new entries at 8:30pm, so don’t cut it fine.

Parking is free on site. As you approach, ignore your sat-nav’s clever ideas and follow the temporary ‘Autumn Lights’ signs and stewards—they’re there to keep things flowing.

Food & Drink

There’s plenty of choice on the food front, from proper hot mains to dessert vans. You’re welcome to bring your own food, but no glass is allowed and you can’t bring alcohol (licensing rules). Bags will be searched on entry—keep it simple and you’ll be through faster.

The fireworks are loud. If you’ve got small children, pack ear defenders. If you forget, they’re available on the gate and at the bar.

Where To Watch (And When To Move)

If you want the classic soundtrack-plus-sky experience, aim for a spot with a clear view of the main arena speakers and a clean sightline above the funfair.

Families tend to prefer the hardstanding areas—they’re flatter, better for buggies, and you’re not fighting the slopes. For the finale, drift towards your chosen viewing area just after 9:00pm; it gives you time to settle without standing around forever.

Small Tweaks That Make A Big Difference

Arrive comfortably before 6:00pm and you’ll notice the queues are shorter, the kids are happier and you’ll actually hear the warm-up sets. Eat before 7:00pm to dodge the pre-fireworks rush. If you’re fuelled by caffeine, grab it early—the coffee queues spike as soon as the temperature dips. And after the finale, don’t sprint for the car. Ten easy minutes back at the food court while the first wave of traffic clears can save you half an hour in a queue.

Getting There

Head to Cheshire County Showground, WA16 0JJ. Use the postcode until you see ‘Autumn Lights’ signs, then follow those rather than your phone. Stewards will handle the last mile and funnel you into parking with minimal faff.

Accessibility And Families

The event is pitched as family-friendly, with entertainment timed for younger audiences and the early children’s fireworks slot. The displays are visible from across the venue, including hardstanding areas that are easier for wheelchairs and buggies. If you’re covering sensitive ears, try to position slightly further back from the PA stacks and main speaker towers; you’ll still hear the soundtrack, just at a friendlier level.
