BRITISH FIREWORK CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022

WHAT: THE BRITISH FIREWORKS CHAMPIONSHIPS
WHEN: TUESDAY 17th & WEDNESDAY 18th AUGUST 2022
WHERE: PLYMOUTH HOE, THE PROMENADE, PLYMOUTH, PL1 2LR
WHY: BRITISH FIREWORK COMPETITION
COST: FREE

It started back in 1997, where each year, 6 professional firework companies take part in the British Firework Championships - and it's back for 2022.

Tens of thousands of visitors attend each evening to witness the beauty and spectacle of the fireworks bursting over the stunning setting of Plymouth Hoe. The area is stunning, with the firing site in the middle of a natural amphitheater.

You can either join in all the fun of the fair or listen to the rousing sounds of Heart FM or conversely, just park yourself overlooking the Plymouth Hoe with your picnic basket and watch the ships and pleasure craft bobbing about in the water whilst the world goes gently by.

The competition brings together some of the best exponents of the professional firework industry going head to head in the skies over the beautiful setting in Plymouth. Fun thrill rides, live music, and great food and drink concessions galore – a great evening out under the setting sun – what could be better.

Competing this year are as follows:

Europla Displays - Tuesday 17th August 2022

Nemisis Pyrotechnics - Tuesday 17th August 2022

Phoenix Fireworks - Tuesday 17th August 2022

&

Fully Fused Fireworks - Wednesday 18th August 2022

Sonic Fireworks - Wednesday 18th August 2022

Wizard Fireworks - Wednesday 18th August 2022

(The reserve display team for this year is Illusion Fireworks)

This awesome family-friendly event has loads to offer throughout the day too. There are loads of things to do and see, from boat trips around the famous Naval Dockyards to visit some of the City’s tourist attractions, including the National Marine Aquarium, the Wheel of Plymouth and the world-famous Smeaton's lighthouse.
