Bradford City Park Opens With An Epic Display

A epic firework display wowed the massive crowd in Bradford city centre for the official opening of City Park on Saturday 24th March 2012.

The light and sound spectacular featured a pair of acrobatic ballet dancers soaring above the Mirror Pool on two glowing balloons followed by fireworks lighting up the sky in the six-acre park.

Over 100 illuminated fountains – one shooting water 100ft into the air - marked the climax of a day of free entertainment to showcase the new public space, which ended with a movie music theme linking to Bradford’s status as the world’s first UNESCO City of Film.

Street theatre, music and large crowds of people filled the park, which has been created by Bradford Council to form a key component of the city’s regeneration.
