ARLEY HALL FIREWORK CHAMPIONS 2018

ARLEY HALL FIREWORK CHAMPIONS 2018

WHAT: ARLEY HALL FIREWORK CHAMPIONS 2018
WHY: FIREWORK CHAMPIONS EVENT 2018
WHERE: ARLEY HALL, NORTHWICH, CHESHIRE
WHEN: SATURDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER 2018

The venue for the final event in the Firework Champions calendar takes place in the gorgeous Cheshire Countryside at Arley Hall.

Arley Hll is a ‘Jacobethan’ style mansion which was built by the Warburton family on lands owned by them since the early part of the 12th century and the building was erected between 1832 – 1845. Set in around 12 acres of grounds including formal gardens, woodland etc, the house overlooks it all. The gardens are considered to be some of the finest in the country having been carefully planted and developed over the past 250 years.

The Hall today is used widely for weddings and corporate events alongside film and TV production for the likes of the fabulous Peaky Blinders and Harley was the sad setting for the funeral of Deirdre Barlow of Coronation Street in 2015.

The Hall and gardens are open to the public on Tuesdays and Sundays between March and October as well as the Bank Holidays. There are special events on periodically too including the Spirit of the Horse event in early June which features horses dancing, choreographed to music.

MAGIC AND MIRACLES – STAPLEFORD, NOTTINGHAM
This team competed at Newby Hall in 2016 and their display was bursting with bright colour but there were a few rogue items which did impact on the cleanliness of the show (in the opening sequence in particular) but when their second track started, there were a couple of tailed spinning comets which screeched in perfect timing to the music.

This venue is a little bigger and perhaps having got the first competition nerves out of the way, they will relax, sit back and bring home the silverware this time around. Using the Fire One firing system this is set to be an exciting and memorable display. Best of luck Magic and Miracles.

HUNAN DREAM FIREWORKS LTD - LUIYANG, CHINA
Well then … this is a first to my knowledge … this team hail from the firework capital of the world; Liuyang in the Hunan province of China.

The company sell within Asia, Europe, Africa and the USA and have been fortunate enough to put on displays for heads of state, leading international companies alongside competing at the huge Changsha Orange Show in which 50 teams compete so this should be a walk in the park.

As an unknown quantity, this team will be the one to watch and we are certain to see beautiful new firework designs and effects on show as this might be the best place to market their goods and the Chinese never knowingly miss an opportunity to network!

Good luck to the team from China and I for one cannot wait to see what they bring to the display.

STAR FIREWORKS – BRACKNELL, BERKSHIRE
The company was established in 1971 and have never looked back. A professional display team who are at the very top of their game with a heaving orders book.

Clients include top UK companies like M & S, Waitrose, BMW and concert fireworks for The Rolling Stones, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and the beautiful and talented Christina Aguilera.

Using the Fire One system, the team won at the British Firework Championships in Plymouth in 2010 which gave them the opportunity to fire at the Champion of Champs event in 2012 but due to appalling weather conditions, this had to be postponed until 2013. Fortunately, they were able to beat the others to the silverware on their return.

Once all the display teams have finished their run, it will be the time to sit back and enjoy the host team from MLE Pyrotechnics showing off their considerable skills whilst the votes are cast and counted. Matt and the team from MLE spend the afternoon chatting to the crowds and there is the chance to ask the burning questions before the displays begin.

There is onsite camping once again for those of you with tents, caravans etc close to the venue by the lake.
