A sneak peek at the ultimate fireworks and music show
World Pyro Olympics 2009 looks like it’s set to be an incredible display of fireworks and music, with two participants scheduled to perform for 18 minutes each during the first four Saturdays. For the first time ever, three previous champions, Australia, China and Italy, will compete against one another. Also worth watching for Japan’s entry, from the providers of Tokyo Disneyland’s fireworks displays, as well as Canada’s, which will be synchronized with the music of Journey’s Arnel Pineda.
On the last day, December 19, all participants will perform in the “Fellowship of Fire” before the finale: fireworks display from the Philippines’ La Mancha Group International, which performed the sole pyro-musical exhibit last year.
The World Pyro Olympics kicks off on November 21 and continues on November 28, December 5, 12 and 19 at The Fort Open Grounds in Taguig.
Exhibit schedule:
November 21 – NICO-Lünig Event GmbH of Germany and Glorious Entertainment Production Limited of China
November 28 - Pyro Studios of Canada and Explosive Productions Pty Ltd of Australia
December 5 - Marutayama of Japan and ParenteFireworks of Italy
December 12 – Hanwha Corporation of Korea and Remote Effects Systems (RES) Specialty Pyrotechnics of U.S.A.
December 19 – Fellowship of Fire and La Mancha Group International of the Philippines
Fireworks start at around 6:30 p.m. but bazaars, play areas and food booths will be open by 3 p.m.
