This event is operated by the ‘Showman's Guild of Great Britain’ and has been held in the Town of Barnstaple since 1931 and it continues to thrill young and old alike today.

Last year the parade and carnival brought an incredible 20,000 visitors to the area for a day packed with entertainment for all the family.

  • Piped bands/majorettes and marching bands
  • Parades
  • Local army cadets
  • Scout and Guide groups
  • Fancy dress competition
  • Fairground rides for all the family
  • Music
  • Entertainment
  • Salsa band
  • Carnival queen
  • Food and drink concessions
  • Ice-cream
  • Walking characters (minions last year were a hit with the little ones)
  • Cheerleaders
  • FIREWORKS

The event ends at around 8pm with a firework display from local display/retailer Brightburst Fireworks.

Get along and show your support for this marvellous event before the dark nights get us all back under the covers.
