Illuminate the gardens returns to the botanical gardens in Sheffield, with a magical family evening with something for everyone to enjoy. Try something different this bonfire weekend, and visit the beautiful botanical gardens, with hidden extras and pyro action for both the little ones and the adults.

Tickets for the last two events have sold out in record time, so it is wise if you are wanting to take part in this evening to get your tickets as soon as possible. Ticket prices are adults £12.00 child ticket £ 6.00 and family tickets £26 (2 adults & 2 children) these prices are plus a booking fee. Children under 2 years are free and under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Experience the botanical gardens in all their glory with the lighting highlighting some of the more stunning features even more. Take a walk along the open paths and discover the new and improved areas, keeping an eye out for the pop-up performances taking place in and around the garden areas.

The doors to the event will be opened at 5pm and will go on for 5 hours. Get there early and enjoy delicious food and drink from the licensed bars and many food trucks in the area, get involved in the free kids’ activities, discover the new areas lit up in the gardens or enjoy the vintage fairground rides.

In the evening this is where you will get your pyro fix as the fireworks, laser and lighting extravaganza takes place. For the little ones or those with sensitive hearing you can witness the low bangs fireworks display or for the pyro nuts, you can stay later to witness the epic finale fireworks to end the evening with a bang.

The laser extravaganza will be shown from the top of the pavilion, and this year, FX productions take to the stage. The fireworks, both the low bangs and the finale are performed by Optimum fireworks. Optimum Fireworks operate out of Keighley and over the last couple of years have taken the professional firing world by storm, winning back to back at Firework Champions events at various historic houses across the country.

The best places to view the fireworks are the new area of the Tulip Gardens, The Avalanche Tipi café situated at the top of the pavilion, The Boardwalk between the pavilion and fountains and the areas where the lawns have been covered near the bar and food traders areas.
