Firework threat to fiestas

A new EU directive about the use of fireworks and fire during fiestas is to be challenged by Spain. The rule says there must be 15 metres between category 3 fireworks and the public in order to improve safety procedures.

But the Spanish Government says this could impact on fiestas through-out the country and especially in Valencia, Cataluña and Andalucía where fire plays an important part in the annual events.
