‘Firework Champions’ is an annual series of events held in historic or stately homes up and down the UK. Competitors within the field of professional pyrotechnics are being invited by organisers MLE Pyrotechnics to take part in the firework competition.
Competitors each create a ten-minute pyromusical display (a firework display choreographed to music) and take to the skies to show their skills.
The material the teams use is not available to the general public and is often the first chance some find of seeing the highest quality of professional display fireworks outside of London on New Year’s Eve.
Things have been quite difficult this year for everyone involved with the firework championships, unfortunately, two of the locations, Arley and Newby Hall could not go ahead but with careful planning, the rest of the schedule is set to take place. To stay in line with the Covid-19 guidelines for outdoor events there will be sanitising stations, extra toilet facilities, social distancing grids, and the introduction of drive-in car park viewing area. Camping unfortunately will not be available at any of the events throughout 2020.
Stanford Hall - For the last 17 years, spectators have been able to enjoy the display, relaxing on the front lawns beside the beautiful lake. This year, the area has been relocated to a site across from the estate, giving more space for guests without having to reduce the numbers and still stay within the social distancing guidelines.
Competing firework teams are as follows:
Team 1 – Phenomenal Fireworks LTD – Lancashire
The company even from the beginning in 2005 has not only had a passion for fire and pyro but has also remained a close family business with only some close friends working within. They provide high-quality displays for weddings, birthday celebrations, and corporate events and are well known in the Wigan area but also cover the whole of the mainland UK.
Team 2 – Skydazzle Pyrotechnics – South Wales
This family-run business based in South Wales specialises in pyromusical displays and is always looking to bring a few surprises and different songs that have not been used before to entertain their audiences. This small company enables to offer a more personalised service to their customers, but they are still large enough to take on any event that is thrown at them and this will be the 2nd time round at Stanford Hall.
Team 3 – Flashpoint Fireworks – Surrey
Flashpoint Fireworks are once again back at Stanford Hall Firework Champions event for 2020. Established in 2003 this display team has been at the forefront of corporate events for many years. The team has competed at Eastnor Castle and Newby Hall for Firework Champions in the past and e expect great things from them so keep your eyes peeled for what this team brings to the table. This is an exciting opportunity to get out into the fresh air and enjoy some family time watching in wonder as the night draws into a sky full of fireworks that will stay with you forever.
This is determined by audience vote so make your feelings clear as each person gets to place their votes and whilst the counting takes place, organisers MLE Pyrotechnics will put on a memorable celebration display to cap the night off beautifully.
