British Musical Fireworks Championships Update

Southport Fireworks Competition

Each year the skies over Southport Light up as the 2013 British Musical Championships got underway last night with the first of the competing teams Komodo Fireworks and Pyroartistry kicking it off in grand style. Our friends on the ground there said that whilst there were some concerns about the new venue, once they all got settled in, the fireworks were nothing short of awesome. At the moment, from the feedback we have heard, Komodo Fireworks came out fighting with every shot on point and the theme and music choices were a winner with the gathered crowds.

This event pits the expertise of the company’s against one another competing to synchronise music and fireworks and win the prestigious industry title of UK Musical Fireworks Champions for 2013.

The competing teams this year are:

• DRAGON FIREWORKS
• PYROARTISTRY
• FUSE FIREWORKS
• JONATHANS FIREWORKS
• KOMODO FIREWORKS
• SANDLING FIREWORKS
• SIROTECHNICS

This year’s event has been moved to Victoria Park the home of the flower show due to ongoing re-development of the original Kings Gardens site.

Prices for the event start from just £5.00 for online advance bookings for a single event ticket and £20.00 for a Premium seated ticket for the Saturday Night event but there are offers on for multiple events so we would recommend that you get in touch with the organisers directly for more information via the Visit Southport website.

Of course, being on the West coast of the UK there are a great many places to stay but of course with expected crowds into their thousands book early if you plan to make a weekend of it. The cost of staying in Southport ranges from B&B at around £120.00 for a double en-suite to around £240.00 for 4* luxury accommodation. Bear in mind with crowds of up to 40,000 the places will fill up quickly so get a shuffle on.

Good luck everyone and if you do get the chance to go along (sadly, we will all be at work until daft o’clock in the evening so no chance of us getting the opportunity to get away) please let us have your pictures and videos.

If you have a love of fireworks the rest assured that this will be the best of the best in the UK at this time battling it out to be crowned Champions 2013.
